How Much Does it Cost To Hire a DJ?

Since every party is different, it is hard to give an exact price quote without knowing any details of your party and if you've not already done so, I encourage you to take a moment now and Contact me for any advice. That way I'll be better able to answer the question of cost or price.

There are many factors that come into play with the price. Location, travel, type of service and hours are just some of the things that can influence the cost of your party.

Weddings and other more formal events take quite a bit of pre-planning and preparation, as well as the "day of wedding coordination", but my DJ packages are customizable to fit your exact needs and budget. Smaller weddings and private parties which may be held on a day other than Saturday, are usually less expensive than any events which are typically held on Saturday.

There are only 52 Saturdays during the year for planning so make sure you book your event with me in advance, or you may find yourself in a bit of a scramble and paying higher rates, just several weeks before your big day! The price for a DJ, really should be a secondary consideration however and what I suggest is that you first decide on what you need and what you are looking for in a disc jockey. First and foremost you want someone who offers the services you desire and has a personality to suit your event. If you're planning a wedding, are you confident that the DJ has the organizational skills necessary? Do you feel that they'll deliver a great service at the reception or gala? Keeping a couple hundred of your closest friends and relatives entertained, involved and on-track takes real people skills. Are you comfortable with the DJ? You'll be spending several hours with your DJ and perhaps several more in planning and preparation, so you'll want someone who is friendly, agreeable, presentable, professional and enthusiastic. Pricing Information

Prices are dependent on three main things.

 

Time of year:
Spring, summer, Christmas and New Year are the premium times. These dates are the first to go. The early part of the year and autumn are not so busy so are cheaper.

How far I have to travel:
I make no extra charge for events within an hours travelling. Locations further afield are subject to extra charges. These charges are reasonable and standard in the industry.

How many hours:
My normal times would be playing from 8.00pm to 2.00am, but if you want me to arrive earlier or play later that is no problem. Most of my clients request my services from 8.00pm till 5.00am.

 

Hopefully you can understand why I don’t put prices on my website. I want you to talk to me or email me. There is so much more to booking a DJ than price.   Like anything in life you really do get what you pay for. If you are looking for the cheapest price you can find, it probably won’t be me. How far in advance should someone book your services?
 

You should book as soon as you have a date set.  To avoid disappointment book as soon as possible. I have clients who book a year in advance to make sure they get me.  I have been doing this for over five years and a lot of my customers re book and refer me to others so I am lucky enough to be busy throughout the year. That said I do get the odd spare night or a cancellation so it doesn’t hurt to call even at short notice.  If I am available and you wish to book I will send you a contract, sign it and return with a small deposit and your booked!  
 

Is it that important getting the right DJ to make sure your wedding or special occasion is a success?
 

Unbelievably important: It’s the main focus for most event. No matter how lavish or low key your special occasion is if the DJ fails so does your evening! It’s the one thing that will guarantee a successful day or night. You can’t afford to get it wrong, it makes sense to pay for an experienced DJ that has proven time and time again that he knows how to work the crowd and make your event or occasion something your guests will talk about long after the party is over. The wrong DJ will have people talking but for all the wrong reasons – I have seen it myself so many times.
